Checking VisiChat integration
Posted by VisiChat Hosting on 25 June 2015 01:01 PM

It is possible to integrate Video Chat with other community databases. Integration can be local (on the same server, like forums and chat sharing a database) or remote (where community database is hosted separately from your chat). This quick start guide assumes that the integration is already configure, if you want to learn more about integration, please see the Video Chat Customisation guide.

Now navigate to, where yourdomain is your web domain and yourchatname is the name of your chat. You can test chat database integration, local or remote, in three simple steps:

Third step only really applies to remote integrations, which are most common in hosted chats.
  • Step 1 - Log in with a user account previously registered in the chat. This should work. This step indicates that your chat still works fine after integration, there is no database corruption in the user table and existing users have not been deleted/overwritten. Log out and go to the next step.
  • Step 2 - Register a new regular user account as a test and us it to log in again. This step indicates that you can write new information to the user table and new registrations go through correctly.
  • Step 3 - For remote integrations, use a set of user details from the community database you know won't be registered already in your chat room, to log in. This step indicates that communication with the remote database and user authentication works as expected.

That's all there's to it.
