Logging and reporting features in Visichat.

Search Filters

Level
Type of logged activity to display; prior to Visichat 3 levels were associated with separate chat reports, which have been integrated since. Pick the level you want to view:

    • Public Message - only show activity from public rooms.
    • Private Message - only show activity from private chats between users.
    • Join/Leave Message - limit the view to people enter and exit events to and from your chat.
    • Bad Users - filter the Reports table to show just bad user reports sent from community members.
    • Chat Moderation - filter the view to show chat moderation events only (kick, ban, gag, etc...).
    • Admin Panel - limit the view to only administration panel activity.

Start Date
Start date for information retrieval; any entries present before the Start Date will not be shown.

End Date
End date for information retrieval; any entries after the End Date will not be shown.

Start Date and End Date can be used together or separately, to define a specific time period for which you want to see messages displayed in the Reports table.

Keyword
Part of a word, word or phrase against which log messages will be matched; messages that do not match the Keyword will not be shown.

Username
Will limit the display of messages to the activity of one person associated with the username.

IP Address
This field accepts IP addresses in IPv4 format; limits the Reports table to only show information related to events recorded for the given IP address.

Room
Specify a specific room for log viewing; only events linked to that particular room will be shown; by default activity from all rooms is shown in the Reports table.

You can use one or more filters for your search. When you are happy with the options, press Search and the software will perform a lookup based on your settings. Results that match your query will be shown in the table below the search form. Reports table will contain no entries if no results are found. By default all activity is shown without any filters, with most recent events listed first. Below is an example of how one of the discussed filters works.
